TOEFL IBT TEST
The TOEFL iBT is a test to measure the English proficiency and academic skills of non native speakers of English. It is required primarily by English-Language colleges and universities.Additionally, institutions such as government agencies, businesses or scholarship programs may require this test. The test is administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS).
The Structure of the Test
The TOEFL is broken down into four distinct sections on each for the skills listed i.e. Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. However, each section may require you to use more than one of the above four skills. The Structure of the test is as follow:-

Orientation to the TOEFL Ibt
The TOEFL iBt tests your ability to understand and use English for academic purposes. There are four sections in TOEFL with special directions for each section.
READING SECTION
One Reading section, consisting of three to four passages that are roughly 700 words each. Each passage will be followed by 12 – 14 multiple – choice questions about the content of the passage.
LISTENING SECTION
One Listening section, consisting of six to nine audio selections, each of which are three to five minutes long. The selections will be either academic lectures or casual conversations. After each selection, there will be five to six multiple – choice questions for the content of the lecture or conversation.
SPEAKING SECTION
One Speaking section, consist of six speaking tasks. Most speaking tasks will also require some listening and some reading. You will have to speak for 45 or 60 seconds, depending on the task.
WRITING SECTION
One writing section consisting of two writing assignments. This section also requires Listening and Reading.

The TOEFL iBt test provides scores in four skill areas.
The total score is the sum of the four skill scores. Scores are posted online approximately 10 days after the test date, then mailed to the institutions you have selected.
